All right welcome to the online coursereport for December 20 2018 my name is John Elder from Courserapy.com and let's dive right into it so really quickly! I want to look at my udemy profile page udemy.com/user/johnelder3 and we can see yesterday this course and this course were highest-rated and they still are today that's a good thing.
You know these things fluctuate from day to day and so every 24 hours or so I want to kind of keep an eye on it and see. I went through here and looked and there weren't any other new ones and there was a couple other ones that were also highest-rated yesterday that are still highest-rated today so that's cool. We have forty-five thousand four hundredand forty-three students which is up from yesterday still thirty-seven courses reviews. So let's dive right in and look at the stats.
So let's see here are xx total income eleven hundred eighty one dollars up from thousand ninety eight yesterday let see courses sold oh we're done today let's go daily stats first so yesterday sold eighteen courses and earned eighty three dollars and nineteen cents and that came to four dollars and sixty-two cents per course. So you know this number fluctuates every day and it's kind of weird because of you know just how udemy prices things they're always doing discounts sales and people in this country pay this price and people in that country pay that price and it's all sort of kind of hard to keep track that's why I like to break it down to earned per course each day. So yesterday we're at five dollars which was unusually high and today we're back down into the four range which is sort of where it usually is.
Still a bit high in the four range so we like that no additional refunds yet still at forty two ninety nine so that's good and five reviews so I just kind of looking at this eighty three dollars yesterday it's really good for the holiday season this is kind of a dead time on udemy right now you know we just finished the BlackFriday and Cyber Monday sales the next big sale is the new year sale. You know start the new year off right by learning something type of thing. New year's resolution sale so in between those two is usually pretty dead but you can see we're doing pretty good here on at least in the last couple of days. So today is Friday and sales have been pretty dead all morning I've only got a couple of them so far but that's sort of usual for a Friday going into the weekend sales are always down on the weekend, I've always noticed, so I'm not worried about that.
It's also we're coming up on Christmas so you know people are out doing Christmas things nobody's learning how to program computers online on Friday morning right before Christmas. So I think that sort of accounts for the sales and we'll see that in the next course report which will be Monday. I'm gonna take the weekends off because like I said nothing much happens on on the weekends but on Monday we'll go over Friday's numbers Saturday's numbers and Sunday's numbers so we'll see exactly how that went. So let's look at the month to date stats you can see we've already looked total income up to 1181 pretty good 71 courses sold hundred twenty two reviews still the same promotional activity. Let me talk about this real quickly you know udemy allows you to send out two promotional emails per course per month so I haven't sent out any I don't think in December so far because we just I mean I might have sent out one at the beginning of this month... yes I did because we were just coming off the Cyber Monday sale and everyone was so saled out at that point you know.
I sent out an email sort of extending Cyber Monday into December and you know 79 bucks we made it's just hardly nothing so I'm going to wait till right after Christmas like Boxing Day day after Christmas and I'm gonna say like you know continue the Christmas celebrations with you know special 90% off course coupons or something or I might say jump start the new year with this sale or something like that and I'll talk about exactly what I write and I'll show you what I write after Christmas when I send out those promotional emails up until now though it's just been dead at 79 somebody keeps messaging me all right so total enrollments 112 I've added a new category here from yesterday average rating so we'll be able to track my average instructor rating which is super super important because so much ofyour sales come organically and through udemy marketing based on your ratings.
So if people are giving you good reviews your courses will come up in the search results better and udemy will spend more money marketing your courses too so it's very important to keep an eye on ratings that's why I look at the total reviews and that's why in the show every morning we're gonna look at actual reviews so we pull this up real quick here let's look at the last few reviews and before we do that I want to see shehram sriram um was the last one and Rebecca L so let's see we can go down to Sheree room so this is a new one that's just come in so from Shree room here sriram to Rebecca yes okay so here's the new reviews we got a five star four star that we talked about this one yesterday a little bit another five star it just says tak people are funny
Five stars four starsand that's the last one from yesterday you know four stars are not great but they're okay you know if I pull up a calculator here and I go 4/5 so that's an 80% you know back in school and 80% was a b-minus and that doesn't fly with me I want an A so four point five oops let's go four point five divided by five is an A- so really a four point five is really the lowest you want to see of course what you want is the fives and really you want fives with a bunch of you know stuff that they wrote as well an actual review so whatever so okay so now very quickly I want to look at courserapy.com the new website we're throwing up still not a whole lot there if you go to the main page there'snothing there yet but if you click on blog this is gonna be a list of all of these course reports
