Alright welcome to the udemy income report it is December 26 2018 the day after christmas now we haven't had a report for the last couple of days one day actually yesterday was Christmas took the day off so we didn't get income for Christmas Eve or Christmas and that's what we'll be looking at in this course hope you had a great Christmas it is cold and windy here in Vegas usually even in December it's kind of you know 60 degrees ish but cloudian and the wind
I don't know if you can hear it or not but it is just roaring outside so let's get into this really quickly this is my you to me profile page udemy.com /user /john Elder 3 so we have 45 thousand 474 students still 37 courses 23 37 reviews and the two courses here that were highest rated the last time we checked in are still highest rated so that's good I always like to check in on that just to make sure so let's pull up the numbers for the last couple of days so here we have Christmas Eve and Christmas and you can see the courses sold for just horrendous three on
Christmas Eve and four on Christmas Day so Christmas Eve we had 10 dollars and 70 cents of income which came to $3.57 of course which is definitely on the low side same amount of refunds both days so that's good let's see Christmas Day we sort sold four courses but almost double the amount of actual income because you know me I noticed was playing around with their pricing and they were pricing courses higher so of course would cost like you know nineteen dollars instead of nine dollars normally so you know my percentage of that was like seven or eight dollars instead of two dollars which it usually is so that's the reason why that is the earnings per course is over $1 more yesterday like says same refunds today reviews for on Christmas Eve and 3 on Christmas Day and we'll take a look at
those in just a minute so let's go monthly stats so income will just go today 1 8 still not great of course is sold 310 not great total reviews 141 okay promotional activities stayed the same and you can see enrollments are up just a smidge the average rating hasn't changed now I haven't really been paying attention to average rating just personally outside of this report in the past these messaging me but now that I'm sort of tracking it every day I see that it never changes so I'm not quite sure that why that is I might look into that in the future just to see okay so what do we want to look at let's go to our reviews and pull this back up so last time we checked in was this
Russian name so anything before the Russian name up to this mod person all right so let's just scroll down until we find the Russian name and well I did see it did you see it one more page down let's see ah hmm missed it maybe it was on the first page and I just overlooked it or maybe disappeared up there it is okay so we last checked in here so let's take a look Daniel gemoro short sweet to the point I was initially surprised at the duration of the course but I chose to give it a try and I really enjoyed it I've been so used to courses that teach you everything about a topic and you sometimes lose focus but this course shows you enough for you to want to learn more on your own I left the course want you to know more but in a good way now that is a fantastic review long detailed five-star you know specific information that's relevant and useful so if somebody's looking to buy this course and they read that
that's gonna be great so we'd love to see reviews like that so now we have a five-star a four-star I'll take it five-star it was a good match for me okay five star five star four star mod so this is where we ended up like we've got a three from this just a few hours ago so not great so let's look at these numbers again really quickly so you can see these two days are just horrendous but it's Christmas Eve and Christmas and you totally expect that holidays
are generally down they just are and especially Christmas I mean like what were you doing on Christmas you weren't at your computer ordering online courses you were spending time with your family you were going to parties you were you know doing all the things that you do on Christmas and so is everybody else all over the world so it makes sense that I'm surprised we even got that many to be honest now today today is Wednesday the 26th orders have been up again so we're back into regular selling and if you look I just pulled my revenue report really quickly so 26 26 26 26 its we're in the morning here and we've already got 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 we've got more orders this morning than the
last two days come all the same actually and the reason for that is this best of 2018 we're starting to see this best of 2018 sale from you to me and that's sort of a year-end little sale it looks like boxing days also and we're seeing so today's Boxing Day in Canada and England I think so we're seeing that code in fact if we look at this Boxing Day I'm just curious here if we view the details AUD so yeah so this is happening Australia it's also Boxing
Day in Australia a British colony from way back not now obviously if we come up here to the best 2018 this is gonna be just flat-out looks like America so you know you D me he's pretty good at narrow narrowly targeting different different sales so I expect today to be a lot better and going into the new year sales should pick up once we hit January we're gonna get into the new year's new New Year's resolution sale which is always good it's not quite as good as Black Friday Cyber Monday but it's right up there so I'm gonna be doing a few things today to sort of tweak
my courses to position them better for that sale one of the things I'm going to be doing is changing all of the thumbnails for the courses so by that I mean all of these pictures and I'm gonna make them look more like this one right here I've been running a couple of tests with my picture and this one did okay better than average but this one really really took off now this is a good selling course for me already but I think it was the change in the thumbnail image to have me here like this I mean sales have been up dramatically since I've been testing out this
image so that's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna take all of these and make them look like this and see how about how that goes I'll let you know if that affects sales positively or not so it's a little bit of a gamble going into the New Year sale but should be fun so those are the numbers last two days not that exciting from here on out for the rest of year should be pretty interesting check in tomorrow with tomorrow's report and should be good so my name is John elder from Courserapy.com and we'll see you tomorrow
