What's going on guys welcome to the daily udemy income report sure I talked about making money on you to me walk you through what's working for me and teach you how to do the same thing my name is John Elder from Courserapy.com and today is Monday January 21st 2019 in today's episode I want to talk about how to submit a takedown request for YouTube when somebody steals your video but before we do that let's look at the weekend numbers so we start out on the 18th which was Friday and we had 12 sales 60 2.66 cents which is pretty good for only 12 sales Fridays are always down a little but that came to five dollars and 22 cents which is a little bit higher quite a bit higher than the average we've been seeing all these threes that it was pretty good I had a refund that day I think reviews we had six we'll take a look at those just a second so Saturday we had 16 sales and only

$55.55 so quite a few more sales than the day before but quite a bit less money and that's because the average course sale price were part that I received royalty was only three dollars and 47 cents now I noticed there was a lot of affiliate coupon codes coming in when those affiliate coupon codes come in you usually only get one or two or sometimes three dollars so those really dragged down the price refund stay the same that day 700 sixty four dollars forty five cents and nine reviews we'll take a look at those in just a minute finally yesterday's Sunday 14 courses sold and even less 42 dollars and 39 cents so that came to three dollars and three cents of course again same same deal lots of affiliate coupon codes it's fine because it's free money but man you wish that would be a higher average so look at this we sold 12 that day and made 62 1655 1442 so a strange weekend

overall for the for the sale so let's just look at month to date totals for yesterday a 1540 dollars a month to date so for pretty good we're on the 20th at this point so it's still good another 10 days left 11 days left in the month 410 courses sold 163 reviews promotional activity has stayed the same and total enrollments 112 thousand 791 or and my average rating dropped down another point zero one I don't know what's going on there but interesting to see that so really quickly let's look at my you to me page here udemy.com /user forward slash John elder three and told students we have forty five thousand nine hundred fifty forty five same thirty seven courses 2505 reviews and the big thing to notice is we've still got this bestseller badge which is fantastic but these two courses still don't have the highest rated badge that they had couple weeks ago but if we come over here to

page three dah-dah-dah we have a new highest rated badge oh my sequel course which has been selling really really well lately and apparently getting good reviews lately is now the highest rated course in Microsoft sequel the category Microsoft sequel so cool didn't know it was in a category called Microsoft Microsoft sequel I thought it was just in the database category but whatever highest rated will take it this one's the highest rated it's always been the highest rated it has very little volume like I saw one or two of them a month even though it's the highest rated so I don't ever talk about that so today in this video I want to spend Oh before we get into that reviews we have so many reviews over the weekend five stars four stars one over one or two I want to sort of show you easy to follow instructions and engaging instructor awesome a for head star is a bit fast but by going

back and repeating lessons it helped me to absorb the content drives me crazy you can pause it pretty watch it but for now stars will take it four stars five stars I'm a little over halfway through the course which I currently feel is planned and presented very well I don't think there's a video over ten minutes which I personally enjoy John is a very good instructor and I would recommend this course to a friend having finished the course I'm feeling the same about the course and the instructor which is awesome I'm sure I'll be taking more courses from John fantastic four stars here's what I want to look at this one is three-and-a-half stars which is a very bad review really anything below four is bad but it says it was too basic course it was too basic course please make the advanced version of this course with database and other stuff that allows to create a real-world

websites so many punctuation we'll talk about that I want to talk about this is an intro to django course and it is listed as beginners and in the marketing material i say this is for absolute beginners and i have created several others django courses which are sort of the advanced version of this course with database and other stuff i had those things so this person knew this was an intro course they knew it was for absolute beginners and they should know i have other courses because they pop up when you buy yet they're complaining about all those things drives me crazy people are stupid okay so let's go back a page alright four stars hello the course started really slowly a bit boring for a person with development background again it's marketed to the absolute beginner not somebody with a development background whatever the pace has picked up and I'm learning a lot John

is explaining really well giving hints and extra bits of information where to find what on gems bootstrap etc someone could do this on your own in future of course actually includes a few smaller courses and is really comprehensive thanks John well okay but you gave me a four star review that's like a seventy percent or something it's like a c-minus whatever Dwayne five stars although I'm a long time as a sequel server DBA I'd never seen use Postgres so I thought this is a great introduction only suggestion I would have is to mention how it handles case sensitivity when creating objects after creating my own tables I spent 20 minutes of unbridled fun trying to figure that out why am I freaking insert statement stop working whatever looking forward to now finding something a little more advanced so I can take a jump into the deep end of approach that's a good

review five stars five stars yep it is working I didn't know how to start and now I am started four and a half stars three and a half stars and five stars five stars this is the course that was just listed highest rated five stars Kirsch gave me a quick understated programming language that's paying too much time so lots of really good reviews over the weekend very happy with that so in this video now I will spend the rest of the time talking about what to do when somebody pirates your course and puts it up on YouTube we talked about this a few videos ago sometime last week I think but I showed you how to do it through you to me udemy has a service that you could fill out a form and they will go talk they will contact YouTube they'll take it down that way well I did that we noticed for all of these courses that I found last week I submitted the form just like you're

supposed to but now it's been almost a week and these courses are still up or these videos are still up so I don't know what's going on here but now I'm going to sort of take matters into my own hands and submit my own takedown request to youtube and that's what I'm gonna do right now in this video I'm going to show you how it works walk you right through it so you can do it too so the URL for this is always changing so I'm just going to go to you type in YouTube takedown request something like that and here we have the very first listing submit a copyright takedown notice right so we click that you can read through here and then click this button submit a copyright complaint I am NOT a robot okay so what is the issue and down here these people have copyright infringement someone copied my creation it's not a trademark it's not a privacy it's not abuse it's not inappropriate

this is somebody has stolen from me violating my copyright who's affected I am the URL of the infringing video so let's just pick one of these this one works I'll just copy this and come back over here and paste it in and it does the work allegedly infringed it's not a YouTube video that they reloaded it's my my video not from YouTube so the title of the original video I'm going to come to the this is the landing page of my course on udemy so I'm just gonna copy this and paste that end link to the video if applicable again we can just copy the URL here paste that in where does the content appear the entire video okay now copyright owner's name so I'm gonna go John elder the authority to make this complaint owner / producer I don't know all right a full legal name John elder and that's gonna ask for street address city state and phone number so I'm gonna put all this

stuff and I'm gonna pause the video so you can't see my address that goes okay and now it says by checking the following boxes I have good faith belief that this is correct everything's accurate under perjured penalty of perjury I am authorized to act on behalf of the owner I acknowledge under your blah blah the DMCA that's the thing but the law that covers this blah blah blah I understand they be used type your full name so John elder I am NOT a robot and then you click the button and that's it now YouTube will send you an email saying we got your request we'll let you know if we need any more information blah blah blah that's it we are now done and in fact I'm gonna go ahead and copy this and make a list of the ones that I've submitted okay and yeah so we'll keep an eye on this the next couple of days I also already submitted this one but it's just that easy to do it

yourself now I like to go through the udemy forum that we talked about a few videos ago because it's it's even easier than that for me I don't have to put my address or anything but like I said I submitted the forum last week and they still taking it down so if that's the case I'm gonna go ahead and submit my own takedown request request straight to YouTube themselves and I've done this before as well it takes a few days just depending on how busy they are and all that good stuff so that's it for today's report if you liked this episode wanna see more like it be sure to smash the like button below subscribe to the channel and check out Courserapy.com for more tips tricks and online course awesomeness my name is John Elder from Courserapy.com and we'll see you again tomorrow morning.
